Kurdish parties and organizations in Northern and Eastern Syria will gather in Rojava next week for the Kurdish National Congress.
Kurdish parties, political forces, and organizations had been expected to announce a common draft on 21 March, Newroz Day, following the negotiations among them.
However, the Congress’s Preparatory Committee announced that they had encountered certain setbacks, leading to a postponement of the planned announcement.
In Northern and Eastern Syria, the Kurdish political forces, parties, and organizations have reached a consensus on a shared position.
Officials stated that the document contained an agreement to form a committee to negotiate with the Damascus government, with the aim of securing the Kurdish people’s rights and ensuring Kurdish representation in a new Syrian constitution.
On 16 March, Kurdish parties held a meeting and decided to convene the Kurdish National Congress. They specifically discussed obstacles to unity and reviewed documents related to the outcomes of previous meetings between the parties.
