In a written statement regarding the attacks and massacres by the Damascus government forces and affiliated armed groups against the Deir ez-Zor region, the Kongra Star Assembly stated that the Damascus government is trying to create turmoil in the regions where there is stability.

Remarking that the Damascus government opened paved the way for the strengthening and revival of ISIS by attacking the region, Kongra Star condemned the massacre carried out by armed groups in Deir ez-Zor and offered condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished urgent recovery to the wounded.

Kongra Star called on the public, the international community and human rights institutions and organisations to take a stance against these massacres and to hold those responsible to account.

"Do not remain silent and take a stand against these massacres and impositions that destabilise the region and threaten women's freedom, multicolored life and democracy,” the statement underlined.

The statement continued: "We believe that our people, together with all its components, will not remain silent against these attacks and massacres. Attacks will not break the will of the people. On the contrary, the attitude and reaction of our people will increase and strengthen more."

Calling for support for the SDF, YPG, YPJ and Internal Security Forces, the statement said: "Take a strong stance against the gang-like attacks of the Damascus Government".

Appealing to the Damascus Government, Kongra Star concluded "Give up your gangster attitude and cooperation with the AKP government; the occupying Turkish state has never wanted the stability of the region and has always endangered the security of the region in order to achieve its Ottoman dreams."
