ISIS cell dismantled in Raqqa

The Syrian Democratic Forces reiterate their commitment to continue the joint security operations against ISIS remnants in the North-East Syria region.

On September 14, the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT), with the support and participation of the International Coalition forces, successfully eliminated an ISIS cell of four terrorists, including two ISIS leaders in Shanina village, east of Raqqa City.

“The joint forces raided where the terrorist cell was hiding. The four terrorists ignored the call for safe surrender and resisted our forces who handled the situation with the utmost professionalism and eliminated all of them, including the two leaders, Abun Yousuf and Abu Matar, who were responsible for the assassinations in the region,” said the SDF Media Center in a statement detailing the operation.

During the operation, SDF forces seized the following:

-Submachine gun

-Quivers /1/

-Smartphones /7/

-Mobile phones /2/
