Internal Security Forces take over security in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods of Aleppo

Following the withdrawal of military forces from Aleppo's Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods, Internal Security Forces (Asayish) took charge of securing the neighborhoods.

Within the scope of the agreement signed between the General Assembly of Sheikh Maqsoud (Şêxmeqsûd) and Ashrafiyah (Eşrefiyê) in Aleppo and the interim administration in Damascus, Internal Security Forces (Asayish) took over the security duties after the withdrawal of military forces from both neighborhoods.

According to Article 6 of the agreement signed on April 1, the military forces in both neighborhoods withdrew to the east of the Euphrates, leaving the Asayish in charge of ensuring security in the neighborhoods.

The People's Protection Units (YPG) announced yesterday that they would act according to the agreement and leave the Internal Security Forces in charge of providing security in the neighborhoods.
