Internal Security Forces celebrate the 9th establishment anniversary in Qamishlo

The Internal Security Forces held a celebration to mark the 9th establishment anniversary at the 12 March Stadium in the northern Syrian city of Qamishlo.

The Internal Security Forces organized an event in Qamishlo to celebrate its 9th establishment anniversary on Monday.

In a speech during the celebration, Cizire Region Internal Security Forces Co-Chair Hemrîn Elî stated that the Internal Security Forces dedicated its 9th establishment anniversary to the people of the region and members of the security forces. “The Internal Security Forces were established with the self-devotion of the youth of the region. The young people protected their region from ISIS. Our achievements are the result of their self-devotion,” Elî said.

“The Internal Security Forces continue to fulfil their mission to maintain peace and stability in North and East Syria. They have now become the protector of the achievements of the revolution in the region. We will follow in our comrades’ footsteps as we carry out our duties,” Elî added.

Cizire Region Interior Affairs Department Co-Chair Kenan Berekat commemorated all the martyrs and congratulated the Internal Security Forces, saying, “The Internal Security Forces will continue to secure peace and stability in North and East Syria. We will follow in our martyred comrades’ footsteps for the achievements of the revolution.”

Cewahir Osman, a member of the Martyrs' Families Assembly of Cizire Region, said that they lived in peace and tranquillity thanks to the sacrifices of the Internal Security Forces. “The designation ‘security and peace forces’ would suit this organization better. We celebrate the Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan who introduced the idea of ​​brotherhood of peoples, the Internal Security Forces and all its components.”

“WOMEN HAVE PLAYED A LEADING ROLE WITHIN INTERNAL SECURITY FORCES”

Rîhan Loqo, a member of the North and East Syrian women’s umbrella organization Kongra Star Coordination, underlined the role of the Internal Security Forces in protecting the region. “Women have played a leading role within the Internal Security Forces. We will establish a free and democratic country in the spirit of free women. We will destroy the feudal power structures with the alliance of ​​Internal Security Forces-Women.

Loqo saluted the guerrilla resistance, emphasizing the support of the peoples of North and East Syria for the struggle of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in the mountains of Kurdistan.

The celebration concluded with the traditional dance performance accompanied by Koma Cûdî's songs.
