The Press Center of the Internal Security Forces said that a comprehensive security operation was launched in the entire southern rural area of Raqqa Canton.
The statement said: "Our forces launched a comprehensive security operation in Raqqa Canton in order to strengthen the security and peace of the region.
The operation started from Kesra and was carried out all the way to the village of El Delha. The operation involved all rural areas and villages in the south of Raqqa and all security forces participated in it."
The statement added: "The operation forces carried out the operation to capture people who were escaping from the law and hiding. As part of the operation, 26 people wanted for various crimes were arrested.
Among the wanted people, 3 clashed with the operation forces for more than 2 hours. They were involved in drug trafficking. The attention and good planning of our forces did not allow anyone to escape and none of our forces were harmed in the clashes.
Many weapons were seized during the raids:
10 hunting weapons
10 Kalashnikov weapons
40 grenade launchers
12 pistols
2 Birno rifles
26 Kalashnikov magazines
90 Kalashnikov bullets
2 hand grenades
3 pistol magazines
The operation was carried out within the scope of our forces’ ongoing efforts to protect society and ensure the security of the region by combining the principles of security and peace."
