Infiltration attempt in a village of Til Temir repelled

The Til Temir Military Council has foiled an infiltration attempt by Turkish jihadist occupation forces into self-ruled territory in northeastern Syria. The planned infiltration was accompanied by artillery attacks on Zirgan.

The Til Temir Military Council foiled an infiltration attempt into the village of Umm Kahf (Umm al-Keyf) on Sunday night. This was announced by the media and communication centre of the Til Temir Military Council, which is affiliated to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Accordingly, the infiltration of Turkish jihadist occupation forces into the village, which is located about six kilometres northwest of the centre of Til Temir, was met with massive shelling.

It is not known whether there were any dead or injured in the ranks of the attackers as a result of the infiltration defence. According to the Til Temir Military Council, there were no casualties. Umm Kahf has long been one of the strategic targets of the invading forces in northern Syria, as it lies on the edge of the 716 highway that connects occupied Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain) with the canton of Hesekê.

The Til Temir Military Council further stated that the prevented infiltration into Umm Kahf was accompanied by artillery attacks on the district of Zirgan (Abu Rasen) further north. According to the report, shells fired simultaneously hit both the centre of the district and the village of Bobî.

On Sunday morning, Umm Kahf was again the focus of the Turkish army and its Islamist allies and was bombed several times. Since early afternoon, the aggression of the occupation forces has been concentrated on the village of Tall al-Lubn, about 17 kilometres west of Til Temir. According to the report of an ANHA correspondent on the frontline between the SDF and the occupiers, the attacks were carried out with heavy weapons.

Since 19 November, the Turkish army has been attacking the autonomous regions of northern and eastern Syria with combat bombers, artillery and drones. Dozens of civilians, members of the defence and security forces and soldiers of the Syrian regime have already been killed. Most recently, two SDF members were killed in a Turkish killer drone attack in Amûdê on Saturday evening.
