In joint operation with the Coalition forces, SDF captures an ISIS member in Til Kocher

SDF remains resolute in their mission to dismantle ISIS’ operational, material, and ideological infrastructure and to safeguard the security and stability of the regions of North and East Syria.

On May 22, the Military Operations Teams (TOL) of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with the participation of International Coalition forces, conducted a joint special security operation in the Til Kocher area, targeting an ISIS cell member named Waddah Marwan Taisan, aka“Al-Awdah”.

In a statement about the operation, the SDF Press Center said that, “Following sustained surveillance of the terrorist, our forces raided the place where the terrorist was hiding and successfully captured him.”

The statement said: “During initial interrogation, the captured terrorist confessed to his role in ISIS propaganda and media operations. He managed several Telegram accounts affiliated with the terrorist organization, through which he promoted its extremist ideology and encouraged youth to join its ranks using fabricated narratives and false claims. He also utilized live broadcasts to disseminate the group’s radical, takfiri messages.”

The SDF reaffirmed their commitment to continuing security operations against ISIS cells, adding: “We remain resolute in our mission to dismantle the group’s operational, material, and ideological infrastructure and to safeguard the security and stability of the regions of North and East Syria.”
