Ilham Ahmed: Visit to Tishrin Dam important step for new Syria

The co-chair of the Autonomous Administration's Foreign Relations Department, Ilham Ahmed, said that the reconciliation process with the Damascus administration has reached an important stage with the joint visit to the Tishrin Dam.

The co-chair of the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria's Foreign Relations Department, Ilham Ahmed, spoke about the joint visit to the Tishrin Dam held on Saturday by a delegation from the International Coalition Forces and the Damascus government.

Stating that the reconciliation process initiated in Aleppo between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the interim government in Damascus has reached an important stage. Ilham Ahmed said: "Today, with the joint visit of the parties to the Tishrin Dam, another step was taken towards the completion of the agreements that were taken in Aleppo." She added that this development helps not only dialogue between the two sides, but also the construction of a common and democratic future for all Syrians, Ilham Ahmed said: "This step paves the way for the completion of the upcoming agreements between the parties and the laying of the foundations of a new Syria for all Syrians with all its components."

The process will continue with similar joint steps in different regions, said Ahmed, adding that new statements will be made in the coming days.
