Hunger strike action launched in Til Hemis

A hunger strike action was launched in Til Hemis as part of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a political solution to the Kurdish question" campaign.

A two-day hunger strike action was launched in Til Hemis as part of the international campaign "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, a political solution to the Kurdish question", launched worldwide in October. Members of civil society organisations, representatives of political parties, council members and many people participated in the hunger strike. Images of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and SDF flags were hung on the tent set up in the area where the School Administration building is located in the district.

Denouncing the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan, Til Hemis School Administration Director Xelil El Ebdullah said that they will continue their protests until Abdullah Öcalan's physical freedom is ensured.

Conservatives Party Co-Chairman Ferec Ibrahim El Hesen said, "Let the whole world know that our actions and struggle for the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan will continue until the end."

Democratic Union Party (PYD) Til Hemis Executive Member Heyal El Xiwêr called for immediate information about the health condition of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. "The isolation of the leader is directed against the ideas of all peoples," Heyal El Xiwêr said.

The first day of the hunger strike action ended with a screening about the lives of the resistance fighters in the prisons of the Turkish state.
