Hesen: The Turkish government is losing

Cihat Hesen from the Raqqa Civil Assembly said that the people did not leave Rojava despite all the attacks by the Turkish state and added that "the resistance and insistence of the people shows that the politics of the Turkish state have failed."

Cihat Hesen, co-chair of the Social Area Studies Committee of the Raqqa Civil Assembly, told ANF that the Turkish state wanted to force people to leave the region so it could run it as it wishes but failed to succeed. “The Turkish state will play all kinds of dirty games to force the people to leave the region. This war is against the existence of the Kurdish people. This is a war of existence and nonexistence.”

Turkey never accepted the Rojava Revolution

Hesen said that the Turkish state felt great anger against the democratic system created by the peoples in the region and that the attacks had never stopped since the beginning of the revolution, “Turkey has never accepted our system. When it comes to Kurds, it becomes more aggressive. As the revolution grew, so did the scope and actors of the attacks. Now, there is a new wave of attacks accompanied by threats of invasion.”

Turkey tried to legitimize its attacks

Cihat Hesen noted that the Turkish state was trying to create a justification for its attacks with the explosion in Taksim, to ensure that their attacks were not criticized. “Every invasion attack is always legitimized by a conspiracy somewhere. This is also in the history of the Turkish state. There is an example of this in the past. In this sense, the Turkish state itself organized, prepared and realized the conspiracy to justify its attack. The mention of Kobanê in the first statements after this incident reveals everything. Kobanê is where the 19th of July Revolution started and the first place where ISIS was defeated. Kobanê was fighting for the whole world. In this sense, the fact that Kobanê's name has been mentioned reveals all the details of the conspiracy. The goal of the Turkish state is to occupy Kobanê.”

No attack could be carried out without some international approval

The Turkish state does not have the power and position to take the decision of a new invasion attack on its own, said Cihat Hesen, arguing that it could not carry out such an attack without some international states behind it. He said that Turkey turned the Russia-Ukraine war and NATO enlargement into an opportunity for itself.

People will continue to resist

Emphasizing that despite all the attacks by the Turkish state, the people did not leave Rojava and would not flee from the region, Cihat Hesen said: “The people have always responded with great resistance. Today, the resistance and insistence of the people have shown that this policy of the Turkish state has completely failed. The only aim of the Turkish state is to force people to leave the region and rule it as it wishes. The Turkish state will play all kinds of dirty games to achieve this. This war is against the existence of the Kurdish people. This is a war of existence and nonexistence.”
