Euphrates Canton Municipalities Union delivering projects despite war

The Euphrates Canton Municipalities Union is implementing the projects included in this year's planning.

Many projects included in this year's planning of the Euphrates Canton Municipalities Union have been determined.

Euphrates Canton Municipalities Union co-chair Felek Yûsif told ANHA that the roads that were prepared last year are now being paved.

Yûsif said that 66 kilometers of roads will be paved in the cities and villages of the Euphrates Canton, and added: "7 kilometers of roads will be paved in the city of Ain Issa, 8 in the western countryside of Girê Spî, 10 in the city of Kobanê, 3 in Sirîn, 2 in Remala, 5 in Qadiriyê, 2 in Qenaya, 1 in the town of Bender, 5 in Til Xezal, 5 in Şêran, 5 in Taşlûk, 1 in Belek, and 5 in Çelebiye."

With the paving of roads in Kobanê, Hîşe and Şêran districts and the city of Sirîn, sewer lines are also being laid.

In terms of drinking water works, the second phase of the project to build a water tank in the village of Cib El Ferec has begun. With the construction of this tank, water will be provided to 5 villages. The project to build a water tank in the village of El Eber that will serve 45 villages continues in the second phase, while the water tank project to be built in Çelebiye city has also started.

Yûsif said that solar energy will be installed in water stations within the scope of the Water Directorate's projects, and added that there have been problems with electricity supply due to the recent attacks by the Turkish state on electrical transformers.

The Water Directorate will deliver water to the new industrial zone 2 km south of Kobanê.
