DAANES: Syrian national dialogue forms the basis for resolving the crisis and building unity

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria stated that the agreement between Mazloum Abdi and Ahmed Al-Sharaa is an affirmation that the only option is to resolve their issue through dialogue.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES) released a statement expressing support for the agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) General Commander Mazloum Abdi and the Syrian interim president, Ahmed Al-Sharaa. The agreement includes guaranteeing all constitutional rights of the Kurds and integrating North-East Syrian military and civilian institutions into the Syrian Government.

The DAANES statement on Wednesday reads as follows:

"The agreement signed between Mr. Ahmed Al-Shara and the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mr. Mazloum Abdi is an important and historic agreement at a sensitive and difficult stage that Syria is going through after the fall of the Baath regime.

We emphasize that this agreement and its provisions are an affirmation that the only option is to resolve our issue through dialogue. At the same time, it expresses our permanent position and our preservation of the unity of the Syrian territory and its societal fabric. It is a positive and important step in reducing the gap between all Syrian parties. It will also be an important and inspiring incentive to enhance the spirit of participation in drawing and building the future of the new Syria, and to move away from the mentality of exclusion and tyranny suffered by all Syrians of all sects. We in the autonomous administration of North and East Syria will work in a spirit of responsibility in leading the process as we have always been.

Since the first day of the fall of the Baathist regime, we in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria have stressed the need for agreement between the various Syrian national forces, seeking to launch a Syrian national dialogue that forms the basis for resolving the Syrian crisis and building a unified democratic Syria.

On this occasion, we congratulate our people on this step, which is a victory for the entire Syrian people, and a barrier against all those who try to undermine the victories achieved by our people through attempts to ignite strife and create a state of chaos, tension and dispersion among the components of the Syrian people. The former regime was also unable to break the historical relations between the peoples of the region, especially between the Kurdish and Arab peoples, as a result of which our people rose up in 2004 against injustice and attempts to tear the Syrian fabric. We will spare no effort in protecting the unity of our peoples and our gains. On this occasion, we remember the martyrs of the 2004 Qamishlo uprising with pride and remain loyal to them.

We call on our resilient people, who are credited with the victories we have achieved and are achieving, to achieve the goals of our revolution in the unity and democratization of Syria. We are continuing our work to bring Syria in general, and North-East Syria in particular, to safety. Today’s agreement is an important step to achieve your hopes and aspirations, and it will achieve its goals and spread peace in the region.”
