Communes in Raqqa vow to resist Turkish invasion

The communes in Raqqa said that they are ready to frustrate the attacks of the Turkish state and called on all peoples living in the region to fulfil their responsibilities.

Following the announcement of a state of emergency by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, the people in the region continue their preparations to frustrate the attacks of the Turkish state and to defend their regions.

Speaking to ANHA, Ehmed El-Nehar, co-chair of the Martyr Îbrahim El-Deqî Commune in Raqqa, said that the state of emergency was declared mainly to ensure peace and to provide services to the people living in North and East Syria.

“The purpose of the state of emergency is to protect citizens and provide services for health and other needs. The work of the Autonomous Administration has been going well so far. Yet, we also want other organizations to support it. So far, they have not provided any assistance other than an ambulance and fire truck. We have trained and expert staff to do these jobs,” Ehmed El-Nehar said.

CALL UPON THE YOUNG PEOPLE

El Nehar pointed out that the people of North and East Syria do not rely on any other force and act their own way. “Take your place on the battle fronts with our men and women inside and outside. Because they need us.”

“The invading Turkish state is killing our children and women, plundering our properties, yet the international community is silent. This reminds us of slavery in the past,” he added.

El Nehar pointed to the sacrifice of young people in North and East Syria, saying: “All components in North and East Syria have taken their place in the construction of the city. We have paid huge prices for the Autonomous Administration project, and we are ready to pay even higher prices.”

“As the residents of North and East Syria, we with all our components will stand in cooperation and solidarity against the occupation of the Turkish state, and we will not allow Turkish troops to invade this land that is covered with the blood of martyrs,” El-Nehar concluded.

READY TO DEFEND WITH ALL POSSIBILITIES

“All residents of Raqqa are ready to stand up to the attacks of the Turkish state. Yes, we don't have rockets, but we have the will and the struggle,” Şadi Ehmed, co-chair of the Idixar Neighbourhood Commune, said.

“We will act based on the state of emergency in the communes and neighbourhoods in Raqqa and use all our physical and material means to protect our land,” he remarked.

Ehmed emphasized that the State of Emergency is a task that the Autonomous Administration and other parts of Syria should also adopt, warning that the Turkish state wants to occupy their lands and they need to be ready to frustrate it.

“People in North and East Syria are aware of the Turkish attacks and threats against the region. Therefore, this war would be a revolutionary war involving all components in the region.”
