Clashes between Turkey’s mercenaries in Jindires, Afrin

Fighting has again broken out among mercenary groups in Turkish-occupied Afrin in northern Syria. Heavy weapons have been used in the fighting in the district of Jindires, and reports are coming through of casualties.

Jihadist groups are fighting each other in the district of Jindires in the Turkish-occupied northern Syrian canton of Afrin. Local sources report a fighting between a Turkish-backed occupation militia and families from Eastern Ghouta who have been settled in Afrin.

According to information from the ground, anti-tank shells have been used in the fighting. Reports are coming through of deaths and injuries, including civilians. The occupation forces have reportedly sent reinforcements to Jindires.

According to reports from Afrin, mediation talks are being held under Turkish supervision.
