After the Social Agreement was approved by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Northern and Eastern Syria Region, the Afrin and Shehba Canton declared the establishment of the Health Council.

The Health Council, the Doctors' Union and health institutions held a meeting in the Axin Welat Hall in the town of Fafin in Shehba.

The meeting was attended by institution representatives and officials. Following the discussions, the Health Council was established and its co-chairs were elected.

The Health Council was established in accordance with Article 104 of the Social Agreement of the Northern and Eastern Syria Region. The Council consists of representatives of health-related institutions and associations, representatives of medical and pharmacist unions, dentists, representatives of health professional unions, and representatives of municipal and economic councils.

Ekrem Erebo and Fehîme Koşnak were elected as co-chairs of the Health Council at the meeting.
