Late on Saturday evening, the Turkish air force attacked parts of the Cizîrê canton in the north-eastern part of Syria. The bombing of important energy infrastructure caused the power supply to collapse in many places in Dêrik, Tirbespiyê and Çilaxa.
The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) released a statement condemning the wave of attacks by Turkey on Saturday evening and criticised the fact that the ongoing acts of war in the region remain without consequences for the Turkish state.
The Autonomous Administration reacted to the silence of international and regional powers against the increasingly ongoing attacks of the occupying Turkish state and said, "The Turkish state carries out successive massacres against our regions and wants to expand its occupation area. The Turkish state targeted a large number of petrol stations, strategic and service buildings in Tirbespiyê and Dêrik regions yesterday."
"Targeting the region with these attacks is complementary to the attacks of the past and the main aim is to create instability and conflict in the region. It also provides support to terrorist groups, particularly DAESH, to organise themselves and carry out attacks,” said the statement.
The Democratic Autonomous Administration pointed out that, "Not only the region is affected by the negative effects of these attacks, but all regions are affected. It is part of the attacks that seek a genocide of this people and the entire Syrian people. In addition, it hinders counter-terrorism initiatives and deepens the crisis in every direction."
The Autonomous Administration called on all forces that have a role in stabilising the situation and fighting against ISIS to take a stance against the invasion attacks, urging international humanitarian and legal organisations to fulfil their responsibilities.
