North and East Syrian Internal Security Forces launched a ‘Humanitarian and Security Operation’ in the Hol Camp on Sunday. The operation is being carried out with the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the People's Defense Units (YPG) and Women’s Defense Units (YPJ).
The operation is going as planned and will continue until security is maintained in the camp, said the Internal Security Forces in a statement on the outcomes of the first day of the operation.
The statement said, “At 04:00 dawn today (March 28), a large-scale ‘Humanitarian and Security Operation’ was launched with the participation of 5000 Asayish members supported by the SDF, YPG and YPJ.
9 people including wanted persons have been captured on the first day of the operation which aims to smash the ISIS sleeper cells in the camp and clear the camp of ISIS members, said the statement.
Accordingly, those arrested include Abu Sa'ed al-Iraqi who had recruited people for ISIS for a long period of time.
During the operation, the people in the camp were counted, said the statement and added that the operation will continue until security is maintained in the camp.
