678 schools in Deir ez-Zor ready to open on Monday

Speaking about the new academic year, Emine Salih, co-chair of the Deir ez-Zor Education and Training Committee, said that 678 schools across Deir ez-Zor are ready to open, employing around 9,000 teachers.

Deir ez-Zor Civil Council Education and Training Committee is trying to strengthen education services in rural areas of Deir ez-Zor. In this context, many schools were repaired and teachers were employed so that students in Deir ez-Zor would not be deprived of their right to education.

In the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, 300,000 students are ready to receive education in 678 schools. In these schools, there are 8,585 teachers. The bell will ring this week. 71 schools were completely destroyed due to the war in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor. 165 schools were partially destroyed.

Emine Salih, co-chair of the Education and Training Committee of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, said that they welcome the new academic year in Northern and Eastern Syria and that their schools are open to all Deir ez-Zor students.

After the meeting with the Education and Training Committee of Northern and Eastern Syria, the Education and Training Committee announced that teachers and administrators would start working on 11 September and the first bell for students would ring on 18 September.

Emine Salih told ANHA: "We used to teach UNICEF curricula in our schools. But this year, the Autonomous Administration released scientific materials such as science and mathematics books to first and seventh grade students. In addition, all students in all regions of Northern and Eastern Syria will wear the same school uniform."

Stating that the schools in Deir ez-Zor were cleaned and prepared to accept students through the communes in Deir ez-Zor, Emine Salih added that they will distribute the necessary school equipment to all education centers this week.

Destroyed schools will be repaired

Emine Salih said that in addition to the support of the Northern and Eastern Autonomous Administration Education and Training Board, some organizations operating in the region also support the field of education in the rural areas of Deir ez-Zor.

Salih said that the Education and Training Committee of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Assembly has taken all measures to have a successful new academic year. She assured that they will repair the destroyed schools in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
