Autonomous Administration statement on Turkish massacre in Kortek

The Autonomous Administration called the Turkish state’s attacks, massacres and invasion attempts against Southern Kurdistan “a culture of insistence on methods and massacres the Turkish state can’t give up”.

The Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration issued a statement on the Turkish state’s attacks against Southern Kurdistan and massacres against civilians.

The statement is as follows:

“The Turkish state’s insistence on massacres is a culture they can’t give up. Since Ottoman times, they have been imposing massacres and genocide against the people of the region. The Turkish state’s attacks against the Kortek region on June 27 are part of their invasion attacks against Southern Kurdistan and Northern Syria. This attack is a continuation of their massacres and attacks throughout history.

The invading Turkish state and their allied gangs have displayed their hostility against the efforts of the region’s people and the democratic will and resolve of all sections of society with what they have done in Afrin and throughout Syrian territory.

We as the Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration condemn the illegitimate attacks against Southern Kurdistan and remember the civilians martyred in Turkish state attacks and those martyred by the Turkish state, with great gratitude.

We are calling on the Iraqi Central Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, as well as international human rights organizations, to fulfill their duties and responsibilities in the face of the rights violations, inhumane attacks and practices by the Turkish state. The Turkish state must conduct their relationships with a different mindset, in line with neighboring state laws.

With that, we are also calling on the peoples of the region to unite more against the Turkish state invasions and interests.

Today the true reason the Turkish state continues with the attacks is the silence of the public in Turkey against attacks in Afrin, Southern Kurdistan and Syria. As long as the invading Turkish state continues to have a presence in these regions, attacks like these cannot be stopped. The Turkish state’s invasion attempts in these regions will continue. This will leave the world to face great problems. With them targeting all human values, the continuation of the invasion project means the destruction of conscience and law for the world.”
