Young people set mobile phone base station on fire in Silvan

In Silvan, young people who took to the streets against the appointment of trustees to the municipalities of Mardin, Batman and Halfeti, set a mobile phone base station on fire.

Protests continue all over Kurdistan against the appointment of trustees to Mardin (Mêrdîn) Metropolitan Municipality and the Batman (Êlih) and Halfeti (Xelfetî) municipalities governed by the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party).

Young people took to the streets in Silvan (Farqîn), in the province of Amed, to protest the blow to democracy and the will of people represented by the appointment of trustees by the AKP-MHP government. Young people set a mobile phone base station on fire in protest.

Young people marched for a while in the Yenişehir neighborhood, and rendered the base station unusable.

Young people also clashed with the police when it arrived at the scene, and chanted slogans.
