Guerrillas Mervan Abi and Kurban Pehlivan finally laid to rest

The bodies of Mervan Abi (Kendal Umut) who fell a martyr following clashes in Hakkari 7 months ago and Kurban Pehlivan who fell martyr in the countryside of Bitlis' Sehi Forests, were buried in their hometown.

The remains of HPG guerrilla Mervan Abi, who fell a martyr in clashes that took place on 14 June in the Çiyayê Reşkê, Hakkari, were finally delivered to his family 7 months later after the DNA match. The remains of the guerrilla were taken by his family from Hakkari Cemetery of the nameless under the snow. The remains were brought to Van and buried in Karşıyaka Cemetery in Ipekyolu. Nobody could attend the funeral, except family members. 

Pehlivan buried in Bulanik

The remains of HPG guerrilla Kurban Pehlivan, who fell martyr during an operation carried out on 10-11 January in the countryside of Bitlis's Sehi Forests, were eventually taken today by his family. The remains of Pehlivan were taken by the morgue of Bitlis State Hospital and brought to the village of Gümüşpınar (Pulur) in the district of Bulanik. Here the guerrilla was buried at the presence of the family only as not other person was allowed.
