Seven people detained in Konya, one in Malatya

Seven people, including former HDP Kulu District co-chair Süleyman Inan, were detained in the political genocide operations carried out against Kurdish villages in Konya. One person was detained in Malatya.

Seven people were detained in the political genocide operations carried out in the districts of Kulu and Cihanbeyli, in Konya. The operation was carried out by Turkish gendarmerie on Thursday and ended with the arrest of former HDP Kulu District co-chair Süleyman Inan, Ismet Üçler, Osman Ekici, Erdal Taşkıran, Mustafa Yılmaz, Hasan Oyucu and Ekrem Söğüt.

Allegedly the investigation has been launched by Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and targeted social media sharing. The people was taken to the Gendarmerie TEM Branch and are expected to be interrogated today and then referred to the prosecution office in the afternoon.

Malatya

Nejdet Bali, the former head of the Labor Party's (EMEP) province of Malatya and the currently a party's provincial executive, was detained in a gendarme raid on his house in the Durulova neighborhood of Akçadağ district. Bali was taken to the provincial police headquarters.
