University student Beyza Buldağ remanded in custody

MSGSÜ student Beyza Buldağ, who was sent to the court with the claim of "inciting the people to hatred and incitement to commit a crime", has been remanded in custody.

Beyza Buldağ, a student at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSGSÜ) and a member of the Socialist Revolutionary Youth (SDG) Istanbul Provincial Youth Organization, was taken to Çağlayan Courthouse in Istanbul from Izmir.

Buldağ, was sent to the court with the claim of "inciting people to hatred and incitement to commit a crime".

Socialist Revolutionary Youth shared the information of the arrest on its social media account and added that Buldağ was detained on the grounds that she established a WhatsApp group regarding the ongoing protests against the appointment of a trustee rector to Boğaziçi University.

Eight students were previously arrested during the Boğaziçi protests. With Buldağ, the number of students arrested rose to 9.
