People in Turkey and North Kurdistan will vote today for a referendum through which Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan seeks to formalize his one-man rule by attaining further authorities through the establishment of a presidential system.

Polling stations have opened at 07:00 am in North Kurdistan and at 08:00 across Turkey for the referendum on constitutional amendments proposed by AKP and MHP. Voting procedures will continue till 16:00 in the Kurdish region and 17:00 in Turkey.

55, 319, 222 people will be casting their votes throughout the day at schools that serve as polling stations.
