Two HDP councillors detained in Muş

The Turkish regime’s political genocide operations against the Kurdish people and their elected representatives continue unabated.

Turkish police carried out house raids in the Muş province Thursday morning.

Two HDP members of the Muş Provincial Council, Mehmet Demir and Mehmet Şakir Tuğrul were taken into custody in the operation. The reason for the detentions was not disclosed.

Both Demir and Tuğrul had been removed from their positions by the Ankara regime on September 9.

All the 9 HDP members in the Muş General Provincial Council were dismissed on Interior Ministry’s order on September 9. Following the mass dismissal, the majority passed on to the AKP.
