An investigation on HDP Ağrı MP Berdan Öztürk was launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the charge of "propaganda for a terrorist organization".

The Prosecutor's Office cited Öztürk's statements regarding the Kurdistan map stamp, which was printed by the Federal Kurdistan Regional Government to mark the visit of Pope Francis.

HDP's Öztürk said: "The commemorative stamp prepared for the visit of the Pope and bearing a map of Kurdistan is a symbol of the lands of Kurdistan and Mesopotamia."
