Turkish artillery hit Meryemine village and its surroundings on Friday as the clashes between the Turkish army and YPG/YPJ intensified in the area.

Houses in Meryemine were targeted by Turkish forces and several civilians were killed and wounded, local sources reported.

Due to heavy bombardment in the area, no detailed information could be gathered about the exact number of casualties.

More than 200 civilians were killed since Turkish launched an invasion operation on Afrin on January 20.
