Turkey names the occupation of Rojava and Bakur "peace corridor"

Turkish occupation of some of the territories of Rojava is now called "peace corridor" by the National Security Council.

Led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the 6 hour-long National Security Council (MGK) meeting in Ankara ended with the reiteration of the same strategy which has as main target Kurds.

The statement issued by the MGK after the meeting also reiterated Turkey's determination to continue to strive to establish what it ironically called a "peace corridor".

This would be a 'safe zone' in which Turkey could actually get away with occupation of a part of the Syrian territory, indeed corresponding to the Northern and Eastern Federation run by the Autonomous Administration established by Kurds.

The meeting reiterated Turkey's disapproval of the support given by some Western countries to the YPG, while at the same time criticised the decision by Interpol to de-list some YPG-YPJ figures.
