Sebahat Tuncel and Ertuğrul Kürkçü, former deputies of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), have been elected co-chairs of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) which has held its first congress under the slogan “This is just the beginning” in the capital Ankara today.

44 permanent and 25 substitute members of the Party Assembly have also been elected at the election during the congress.

BDP former deputies Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Levent Tüzel are among the elected permanent members of the party assembly.

Members of the discipline committee and advisory board of the party have also been elected during the congress which ended with the performance of political music band Kardeş Türküler.
