Tribute to Italian YPG fighter Orsetti in Florence

Italian internationalist fighter Lorenzo Orsetti (Tekoşer Piling) was martyred in the war against ISIS in March.

YPG’s Italian fighter Lorenzo Orsetti who lost his life in the fight against ISIS, is remembered in Florence city in day long activities. Orsetti fell a martyr in the fight against ISIS in Baghouz, Deir ez-Zor on 18 March 2019. His body reached Rome two weeks ago and his hometown, Florence, on 15 June.

Day-long activities have been organised in the Florence city today to pay tribute to the 30-year-old Italian anarchist fighter.

Italian and Kurdish organisations have called for strong participation in the activities. On the other hand, solidarity messages with Orsetti will be accepted over SMS till 8 pm today.

The activities for Orsetti include readings, and screening of videos, photographs and messages sent by his comrades to Rojava.

Sunday’s tribute for the Italian fighter began with a commemoration ceremony at Piazzale delle Porte Sante in San Miniato at 10 am this morning.

The following official ceremony began with a speech at 11:30, while the second activity will start at 17:00.
