Syrian army attacks SDF with mortars near Deir ez-Zor

Syrian army forces attacked Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) positions after SDF fighters liberated Kobar village near Deir ez-Zor.

After five days of intense fighting, SDF fighters liberated Kobar village, 43 km west of Deir ez-Zor city, on Saturday. Five ISIS members were captured dead and a number of weapons and ammunition were seized by SDF.

SDF forces also seized a bomb-laden vehicle and two other vehicles with heavy machine guns.

About 600 villagers were rescued and transferred to secure zones behind the front lines.
