Strategic points liberated, 48 ISIS members killed in Raqqa

Syrian Democratic Forces have cleared the Children’s Hospital and some other strategic points and 48 ISIS members were killed during clashes.

The operation to liberate Raqqa continues at full force in its 81st day.

During last night’s clashes in Old Raqqa area east of the city, 21 ISIS members were killed and a vehicle laden with ammunition was destroyed by the SDF fighters.

Following the fighting in Mirur neighbourhood west of the city, SDF fighters completely cleared the Children’s Hospital where 16 ISIS members were killed in clashes.

In the Nahda neighbourhood west of the city, SDF fighters made further advances and took several significant points under their control. 11 ISIS members were killed during the clashes here.

Fighters of the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces have cleared a larger part of Raqqa of ISIS as part of the ‘Great Battle’ they launched to liberate the city on June 6.
