Serap Mutlu, elder sister of one of PKK’s leading cadres, Mazlum Doğan, was taken into custody by the police in Istanbul on the grounds of an “arrest warrant” issued for her. Mutlu was then taken to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.

After giving her statement at the prosecutor’s office, Mutlu was referred to an Istanbul court which ruled her imprisonment for allegedly “spreading PKK propaganda”. Mutlu will be sent to Bakırköy Women’s Prison.

Mazlum Doğan’s sister Serap Mutlu had faced an investigation by the Public Prosecutor of Dersim’s Mazgirt district for wearing a yellow-red-green scarf at the funeral of her mother Kebire Doğan who lost her life on November 11, 2018.
