Second edition of Kurdistan Days will take place in Dresden in October

The second edition of the Kurdistan Days will take place in Dresden with a wide range of cultural and political events. As a warm-up, an activist from "Women Defend Rojava" gave a talk on the Kurdish freedom movement.

The "Kurdistan Days" will take place for the second time in Dresden in October, from the 6th to the 14th. Eight days of cultural and political events will be offered at various locations in Dresden, including a reading, a photo exhibition, a culture day with music, dance and Kurdish food, numerous lectures, cinema and much more.

As a warm-up, an event on the basics of the Kurdish freedom movement was held with a speaker from “Women Defend Rojava”.

The movie Blackberry Season by director Hasim Aydemir will be screened on 1 October at 8 pm at Zentralkino.

The Kurdistan Days offer an insight into the numerous facets of Kurdish life and are organized and carried out by a broad alliance again this year. The full program is available in German, English, Turkish and Kurdish on the International Center's website.

At the end of the Kurdistan Days 2022, a demonstration under the motto "For Life - Defend Kurdistan" will take place on October 14th. This will start at 5 p.m. at Leisniger Platz in Dresden-Pieschen.

"We are looking forward to discussing the basics of the Kurdish liberation movement through the range of events in various locations in the city and to learning more about Kurdish culture together," explains Ivana Elefterya, spokeswoman for Women Defend Rojava in Dresden.
