SDF liberates four villages in Deir ez-Zor operation

SDF fighters have cleared four more villages of ISIS in the Operation Cizire Storm.

The Operation Cizire Storm launched by the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on September 9 to liberate Deir ez-Zor territory from ISIS continues.

The fighters moved on to ISIS-occupied villages Sunday morning to avenge the civilians massacred by ISIS who detonated a bomb-laden vehicle near a convoy transporting civilians out of the conflict zone between Konika and Jaffra villages, leaving at least 200 people dead.

Following fierce clashes with ISIS gangs, SDF fighters made further advances and liberated the village of El-Xece 36 km south of Deir ez-Zor, El-Hecne village 37 km southeast of the city, Teyib El-Fal village 38 km southeast of the city, and Sıker village 40 km southwest of the city.

11 ISIS members were killed during clashes.
