SDF announces the death of a fighter in drone strike

A fighter of the SDF was killed in a drone strike by the Turkish army. The SDF condemned the “cowardly and treacherous attack” and expressed its condolences to the family of the fallen fighter.

A fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has been martyred in a drone attack by Turkish occupation forces.

According to the SDF Press Center, Samir İbrahim (nom de guerre Şivan) was martyred on Saturday in an attack on the Al-Tarwaziya front near Suluk. The town is located a few kilometers southeast of occupied Girê Spî (Tal Abyad).

The SDF strongly condemned the “cowardly and treacherous attack by an armed drone of the occupying forces” that took place during an operational mission. The full identity of the fallen fighter is as follows:

“Our comrade Şivan was a steadfast fighter who came from a patriotic family deeply rooted in the struggle for freedom. His commitment was shaped not least by his desire for justice for his brother, who was martyred while defending the Tişrîn Dam. He firmly believed that the sacrifices of the martyrs would bear fruit through the victory of the resistance,” the SDF said.

The SDF honored their fallen comrade as a “disciplined and courageous fighter who distinguished himself through his dedication and knowledge of modern warfare tactics.” He always remained true to his principles and to the memory of his fallen comrades, it noted.

The SDF expressed their deepest condolences to the family of the fallen fighter and added: “We renew our promise to continue on the path of the martyrs, to strengthen the resistance, and to continue the struggle tirelessly.”
