Roboski Initiative: 444 weeks without justice

The Justice Initiative for Roboski made a statement at the Ankara Branch of the Human Rights Association (IHD), 102 months after the Roboski Massacre, in which 34 civilians, 19 of whom children, were killed by Turkish warplanes.

Tanju Gündüzalp, member of the Justice Initiative for Roboski said: "It is a pity that there has been no positive progress in terms of law and justice after 444 weeks since the massacre.”

Gündüzalp added: "This war and exploitation system should stop now. The countries of the world should stop spending most of their budget on security and war policies, and try to create a life without war, exploitation, and with equality and justice for humanity and nature."

Gündüzalp emphasized that the perpetrators “are not being tried in these lands where impunity settled on every corner” and added that “impunity will trigger the next massacre.”

The statement also pointed out that a fair order cannot be established unless all the decision-makers responsible for the Roboski Massacre are punished and the past is addressed with justice.
