Kurdish university students staying at Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) in Polatlı district of Ankara were assaulted by a racist group yesterday.
A group of Kurdish youths studying at Gazi and Hacettepe University in the Turkish capital Ankara were attacked by racist groups led by MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) district organisation yesterday evening. Some nationalist students were injured in the conflict that broke out upon the racist attack.
Dozens of nationalist students led by MHP district organisation marched to the KYK building and surrounded it in the evening, attempting to lynch the 5 Kurdish students staying in the building. The groups whom the police didn't intervene threatened to kill the Kurdish students, warning them not to create a trouble.
While tension in and around the building ended after the assailant groups left the scene late at night, threat against Kurdish students in the district remains.
The Kurdish students targeted in the attack accused the KYK administration of acting partiality.
