PYD members condemn the silence on practices in Turkish jails

PYD Cindirês district branch members condemned the Turkish state's practices against prisoners and the international silence on these practices.

PYD (Democratic Union Party) members of Efrîn's Cindirês district branch made a statement to the press condemning the Turkish state's practices against prisoners who launched a massive hunger strike in protest at the violation of basic rights and freedoms.

The press statement was read by PYD member Ehmed Cuma who stressed that the Turkish state is experiencing the most dictatorial times under the ruling of the AKP government. Ehmed Cuma pointed out that the Turkish state insisted on its denial of the Kurdish question by ending the peace process, a project of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Ehmed Cuma saluted the resistance of prisoners on hunger strike, and condemned the Turkish state's practices against prisoners and the international silence on these practices.
