Pro-Afrin demonstrations in Sweden, Norway and Switzerland

In Zurich, Gävle, Gothenburg and Stavanger solidarity actions have taken place for Afrin.

For 55 days worldwide protests have been taking place against the violent war of aggression of Turkey against the northern Syrian canton Afrin. The protests focus on massacres of the civilian population and silence or active support of international forces for the Erdoğan regime.

One of the European cities in which protests are running continuously is Zurich. On Thursday a demonstration took place from the canton parliament to the Russian consulate. The activists, including Kurds and leftist, socialist and anarchist groups, demanded that Russia close the airspace over Afrin immediately.

In Gävle, Sweden, an information tent was erected. In addition, a 23-kilometer long solidarity march took place during which information dossiers were presented to political parties.

Gothenburg city center also houses an information tent. In front of the tent a crowd gathered and marched to the Russian consulate.

In the Norwegian town of Stavanger, a demonstration took place at the NATO base. An information dossier was submitted there.
