Police repression against electorates in Amed and Siirt
Voting in the Kurdish region has begun with unlawful practices by Turkish security forces.
Special operation police teams and armored vehicles have been deployed outside schools where people cast their votes in Sur district of Amed which witnessed a heavy persecution and attacks by security forces against the civilian population last month.
The teams of special operation police with masks on their faces are patrolling in and around Yavuz Selim, Süleyman Nazif, Cemal Yılmaz Alparslan and Mardinkapı schools in the district
On the other hand, electorates who started to cast their votes in Siirt as of 07:00 this morning are being subject to an unlawful practice by police who are allowing the people into schools only after checking and approving their ID cards and voter registrations.
