Osman Şiban, the villager who was thrown from a military helicopter along with Servet Turgut, last September, has been released after police took him into custody this morning.

Şiban had been arrested following a raid on his house in the borough of Güneş in Mersin.

Şiban had been taken into custody within the scope of an investigation carried out by the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. He was taken to Toros State Hospital by ambulance to undergo a health check. A specialist doctor at the hospital said that  Şiban was not fit to travel. Following this report, Şiban was released.
