Police beat young man in the middle of the street in Siirt

A young man named Welat Inan was subjected to police violence as he was returning home from work in Siirt.

The Turkish police stopped a young man named Welat Inan, who was returning home with his friends after work in Yenimahalle borough, in Siirt.

Four policemen attacked the man in the middle of the street without first trying to talk to him and exposed him to torture for a long time. The people around wanted to intervene to stop the police, but they couldn’t prevent them from beating Inan, who was covered in blood.

After the violence, Inan was taken to Siirt Training and Research Hospital by other police officers who were sent to the scene.

According to the information conveyed by Inan's family, the man’s nose, knee and fingers were fractured. He received a report of assault from the hospital.
