The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) celebrated Newroz with a written statement, saying: "Newroz has been celebrated as a festival of victory and freedom throughout the long history of the Kurdish people. Today, once again, we are witnessing the beginning of a new era in our people's struggle for a free life. Many who thirst for freedom are undoubtedly fighting every day to attain a liberation they may only achieve once in their lifetime, and they celebrate this struggle with the arrival of Newroz."

PJAK added: "The Kurdish people and the Freedom Movement are currently going through a process of liberation. The unity and solidarity demonstrated by our people, particularly in Newroz squares, bring great enthusiasm and morale to all those who fight for freedom. The process initiated by Abdullah Öcalan’s ‘Call for Peace and a Democratic Society’ marks the awakening of the democratic nation and is the only true way to restore the true meaning of Newroz. This year’s Newroz is being welcomed as the herald of a new phase in the struggle for a free life. The revolution has laid the foundation for Newroz, and its celebration aims to secure freedom.

For the past century, our people and other oppressed nations have been subjected to physical and cultural genocide, but the revolution led by our people and the guerrilla forces has neutralized these attacks. This victory signifies liberation from physical annihilation. However, it must be consolidated through the realization of the Call for a Democratic Society. In this regard, Mr. Öcalan has launched a new era with Newroz."

The statement continued: "Many parties and groups are attempting to sabotage this process for their own interests. Therefore, our people must embrace this call and once again thwart all the plans of enemies and interest groups. Since the last Newroz, the Kurdish people have gained many achievements and have fought to protect them. Without a doubt, the pioneering spirit, labor, and sacrifices of the Kurdish Freedom Movement will safeguard these achievements, sustain the determination to struggle, and restore Newroz to its true meaning.

The true pioneers of this era of success are, without a doubt, women. The path to freedom and democracy will be realized through the philosophy of Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (Woman, Life, Freedom) and the active role of women. In recent years, women have taken remarkable steps forward and have nurtured greater hopes for liberation.

Without women, Newroz cannot hold its true meaning, nor can the struggle for freedom be sustained. Through their presence, our people will lead the oppressed peoples of the Middle East in the ranks of struggle, and the youth will safeguard the interests of all oppressed communities in the region. The Spring of Women and Newroz has now entered the phase of realizing the ‘Spring of Freedom’ through the construction of a democratic society. The struggle of women and young people will ensure that the building of a democratic nation secures the interests of all oppressed nations across the Middle East."

The statement added: "Newroz symbolizes the end of war, the celebration of freedom, and the construction of the Democratic Nation and Ecological Society. The grassroots revolutionary movement that has emerged in Iran and Eastern Kurdistan over the past three years can contribute to solving the Kurdish issue in a way that benefits all peoples of the region. Therefore, the resolution of the Kurdish issue will bring freedom, peace, and stability to the countries of the region, particularly Iran.

We once again celebrate the Newroz of women, the Kurdish people, and all oppressed peoples. On this occasion, we call on everyone to unite, move away from unilateral approaches, and gather en masse in Newroz squares in the true spirit of Newroz. We must heed Mr. Öcalan’s call for a peaceful resolution of the Kurdish issue and transform this year’s Newroz into the Newroz of the Democratic Society. We celebrate the Newroz of Resistance and Freedom for all.

This Newroz is of great significance as it represents both Mr. Öcalan’s freedom and the resolution of the Kurdish issue. In this spirit, we call on everyone to embrace this responsibility and join the Newroz of Freedom and Democracy."
