People concerned over their lives amid Turkish bombardments

Turkish troops have laid a siege in a village in Erzurum province. Villagers say they are under bombardment and have no safety of life.

The village of Geventepe in Erzurum’s Karayazı district is under the siege of Turkish military forces for 10 days. Villagers say Turkish military vehicles have blocked the entry and exit points of the village and they cannot even go out of their homes.

Local people say that dozens of armored vehicles have surrounded the village and helicopters are intensely shelling an area right next to the village. Accordingly, a number of ambulances and armored vehicles have been dispatched to the region following the bombardment.

Residents of the village are concerned over their lives amid ongoing aerial bombardment and military activity.

In the meantime, Haydar Oran, his son Cihat Oran and his nephew Kadir Oran were taken into custody near the scene of the bombardment. The detainees called their families and said they have no safety of life.
