Operation aginst TUHAD-FED in Çukurova leads to at least 11 arrests

Çukurova TUHAD-FED was raided today and at least 11 people were taken into custody.

A new political genocide operation was carried out today, targeting many addresses in the rural districts of Akdeniz, in Mersin within the scope of the investigation launched by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Association for Solidarity with the Families of Prisoners (TUHAD-FED). Nine people were detained in simultaneous raids carried out by Turkish soldiers in the morning.

The detainees were taken to Akdeniz District Gendarmerie Command. The people, detained on the grounds that they sent money to prisoners, are expected to be taken to Antalya.

The people taken into custody are been named as follows: "Former administrators of TUHAD-FED Cukurova Celal Yel, Hasan Vadi, Ali Bilen, Kadri Ezen, Nermin Aktuğ, Diyar Turgut, Eylem Turgut, Serhat Turgut and Yener Aydın."

Within the scope of the same investigation, Songül Şarklı and Selma Yavuz, members of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Party Assembly (PM), were detained in house raids in Antalya.
