Newroz march in Frankfurt

The marchers protested the isolation imposed upon Kurdish Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the silence of Western governments, and drew attention to the hunger strikes.

The Newroz march started in two parts in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Kurdistan people’s Democratic Society Federation of (FCDK-KAWA) dedicated the central Newroz march to Ugur Sakar, who set himself on fire in Krefeld, Germany on February 20 and lost his life on March 22.

A large crowd gathered early in the morning and started to march at noon in two parts. The march is divided into the green and red legs.

Meanwhile, a bus of 50 people who left Stuttgart to attend Newroz were stopped by the police near the Frankfurt airport. The police are checking papers for all attendees, and the bus hasn’t been let through yet.
