New textile factory to open by DEM Party-run Mazıdağı municipality

Mazıdağı (Şemrex) Municipality is about to complete the preparations for the textile factory planned to be opened in the district. This factory, which is expected to open in October and will provide employment for 350 people, will be the first textile factory in the district.

The municipality said that the factory, which is built on an area of ​​10,500 acres and has a capacity of 216 machines. DEM Party co-mayors Kudret Uçuk and Hamdin Demir said that the municipality is a multidimensional service area that is not limited to infrastructure only and that they want to create new employment areas for women and young people first. They added that they aim for the factory to contribute to the training of productive and strong individuals as the first textile factory in the district.

Training for workers to be employed in the factory has also started. In the free courses carried out in collaboration with Mazıdağı Public Education Center and Panda Tekstil, sewing, cutting, buttonhole opening, and dress sewing are provided by 2 masters and 6 assistant instructors.

The course, which started on 29 July, offers training to 600 people divided into 4 groups, morning and afternoon. It is planned that the course will last 3 months and that trainees who are qualified will be employed in the factory. The course, which will continue with new applications after the training, aims to meet the need for the textile labor force in the region.

The municipality also applied for funding for the women's cooperative village project it wants to implement. A project application of 300 thousand euros was made to the German Development Agency within the scope of the "Effective Cooperation Project for Regional Policies" supported by the EU. If the project is accepted, 40 women will be employed for two years in the Soil Agriculture Cooperative. The "Şamrah Producing Women's Cooperative Village" project, which was prepared after the feasibility study, will open a café that aims to provide women with a more productive working environment and a free nursery for the children of the employees.
