In the Halfeti district of Urfa, the resistance against the usurpation of the people's will by a trustee continues on its 8th day. A group of lawyers from the Antep Bar Association visited the ongoing vigil in front of the blockaded municipality building. The delegation, including Antep Bar Association President Bülent Duran, was welcomed by Mehmet Karayılan, elected co-mayor of Halfeti Municipality.

Speaking here, Bülent Duran drew attention to the government's use of tyranny and extra-legal methods to violate rights. Duran stated that the people made a choice at the ballot box, but the duties of the elected co-mayors were usurped. Emphasising that trustees are unacceptable, Duran continued: “Regardless of where we are, whoever the addressee is, everyone living in this geography, politicians, legal organisations and everyone with a conscience should speak out against this usurpation of will and rights. It is necessary to develop a common attitude for the elimination of this usurpation and the return of this will.”

After the statement, the crowd marched to the DEM Party district building.
